Franco Colapinto won the two races on Sunday and regains the lead of the F4 Spanish Championship provisionally. Three of three for the Argentine in the Circuit Ricardo Tormo!
Second day. All prepared in the Racing Weekend to continue enjoying the future of Formula 1.
Emotions started very early. The ‘Quali’ 2, which qualified for the last race, remained in the hands of Glen Van Berlo, who thus achieved his first Pole Position of the season.
Before, Race 2 of the weekend had to be played. The second best time of qualifying 1 had left Colapinto first, Van Berlo second and Meyer third.
At the start, the Motorsport driver surprised the Poleman and achieved the first place. However, a problem in his car forced him to abandon the test. Thus, the Argentine reached the lead and did not let go until the checkered flag.
The real fight was in the third position between Carles Martínez and Tijmen Van Der Helm. The Spanish pilot attacked in several moments of the competition, but the Dutchman knew how to defend himself to secure the third place.
For its part, Belén García and Nerea Martí staged an exciting dispute for the Women’s Trophy. In the end, it was the Global Racing Service driver who took the podium.
Three of three for the Argentine
The final race of Sunday arrived. Van Berlo could get his first win in the championship. However, the pressure of Colapinto, who came second, ended up snatching the tip.
Meanwhile, Kilian Meyer did not have a good start and jumped from sixth position to eighth. Even so, he was able to recover in the final minutes and managed to bother Van Berlo’s second place.
Triumph for Franco Colapinto and three of three in Valencia. In this way he regains the leadership of the championship, provisionally.
In the Women’s Trophy there were no changes. Belén managed to beat her opponents and took the podium again. The Spanish is the provisional leader of the season in this category.
