Glenn Van Berlo took another victory in the Spanish Formula 4 Championship, while Franco Colapinto took his sixth win of the season.
Sunny day at the Circuito de Jerez. Glenn Van Berlo started first in Race 2 and would achieve his second victory of the year. The MP Motorsport driver maintained a perfect rhythm to beat Meyer, second, and Colapinto, third.
Precisely, the fight was concentrated in second place. The Spanish driver managed to defend himself from the constant attacks of the Argentinean, managing to reduce points in the fight for the title.
However, in the third race the championship leader would get the pole position and become the favorite. Van Der Helm took second place and Meyer third.
At the start, Colapinto defended first place and Van Berlo took advantage of the slip of his teammate, Van Der Helm, to jump to second place. Who did not have a good start was the Formula de Campeones – Praga driver, losing his position with Axel Gnos. The Swiss would achieve his first podium of the season.
Triumph for Colapinto, who is consolidated in the leadership of the F4 Spanish Championship. Van Berlo showed a great awakening and climbed to the podium of the general classification. For his part, Meyer remains second.
The Women’s Trophy is still interesting!
Nerea Marti was the great protagonist in the second race, after beating Belén García and Irina Sidorkova in the female category. The Spaniard finished eighth and scored important points to put pressure on Belén in the fight for the title.
However, in the last race, the Global Racing Service driver would recover the lost ground and keep the victory. The Catalan continues to lead the classification of the Women’s Trophy, while the Valencian is second. Irina Sidorkova is third.*
In this way finished the fifth round of the season. The next stop will be Algarve, Portimao (POR), on 26 and 27 October.
