The young Serbian gun will fight for more ambitious goals in 2022.
Campos Racing has announced Filip Jenic as their first confirmed driver for the 2022 Spanish Formula 4 Championship season.
The 16-year-old Serbian driver will face his second season in single-seaters after showing his talent in 2021 alongside Teo Martín Motorsport. He added a win and a third place to his record working alongside them to finish among the top 10 rookies of the competition.
The great successes in go-karts placed Jenic as one of the drivers to keep an eye on in the Spanish Formula 4 Championship. The Balkan did not take long to score his first point in single-seaters, as he did it in the first race of the year held at Spa-Francorchamps.
His step forward came in the second part of 2021. He scored 39 of his 50 points in last three events, including a podium finish in Valencia and his first win in F4 in Barcelona.
So, with Campos Racing taking second and third place in the drivers’ standings as well as teams’ vicechampionship in his debut year in Formula 4, Jenic now lands in the Alzira-based team ready to fight for big goals in 2022.
«It’s a great honour to be part of this great team, it will be an exciting challenge and I’m certain that we can achieve great things together!«, explained Filip Jenic, who is already the eighth driver confirmed for the 2022 grid.
The 2022 F4 Spanish Championship season will start next April 29th at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve in Portimao.
