Operational Issues Lead to Cancellation of F4 Spanish Championship Qualifying 1 at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya

November 15, 2025 by

The operational issues that occurred before Qualifying 1 of the F4 Spanish Championship at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya are due to an internet signal failure provided by Fira Barcelona. This situation has led to the cancellation of the session, where the control of track limits and timing through the automatic systems, which are always used in our competition, is essential.

Due to the high volume of track limits and the automation of all systems in Race Control, it is not possible to monitor track limits through marshals or other conventional methods, as they would not meet the required standard for our series.

We would like to remind everyone that the sporting regulations allow, in cases of force majeure, the use of Free Practice times to determine the starting grid. Additionally, the tight weekend schedule, with six categories, did not allow for the rescheduling of this Qualy session at another time, as it is mandatory to respect the 90-minute interval between Qualy and races, as specified in the regulations.
