The F4 Spanish Championship resumes action in Valencia

After a well-deserved summer break for teams and drivers, the F4 Spanish Championship returns to the track for the final three events of the season, starting in Valencia from September 13-15, coinciding with the second stage of the NAPA Racing Weekend 2024.

The race at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo, which celebrates its 25th anniversary on September 19, marks the fifth round of the calendar. Keanu Al Azhari (178 points) leads comfortably with a 48-point advantage over Mattia Colnaghi following his third win of the year at Motorland.

The Italian -best rookie- (130 points) remains in contention after a double podium finish in Aragón, and Maciej Gladysz (128 points) has entered the fight with three wins in the last four races. With nine races still to go and many points up for grabs, he has made a strong case for a title challenge.

In the team standings, KCL by MP Motorsport leads with 244 points, followed by MP Motorsport with 208 points, and somewhat further behind are Griffin Core by Campos Racing (148), Campos Racing (134), and Rodin Motorsport (100).

The Valencian circuit is a regular feature on the F4 Spanish Championship calendar, marking its eighth visit in nine seasons in 2024. With the return to the routine, a large crowd is expected at the NAPA Racing Weekend, where the F4 Spanish Championship will be joined by the Porsche Sprint Challenge Iberica and Toyota GR Cup Spain.

This weekend in Cheste, 36 drivers will take to the grid with newcomers Reno Francot (GRS Team USA), Gino Trappa, and Oscar Wurz (Drivex Team) joining the lineup, alongside the wildcard return of Álex Ninovic with Rodin Motorsport, currently second in the F4 British Championship standings.

The Valencia circuit is known for its technical layout, with gravel run-offs leaving no room for error. Securing a good lap time in qualifying is crucial, as overtaking opportunities apart of the long main straight are limited.

Track activity will begin on Friday with 3 hours of testing to help drivers and teams reacquaint themselves with their cars. Free Practice sessions will take place on Saturday at 09:00 and 11:10 local time. The first Qualifying session at Circuit Ricardo Tormo will be at 13:30 local time, where we will determine the driver who will secure the first B.R.M Chronographes Pole Position of the weekend and start from pole in Race 1 at 15:35 local time.

The Sunday schedule includes the second Qualifying session at 09:00 local time, the short race at 11:05 local time, and the final race of the weekend at 15:15 local time.
