The F4 Spanish Championship resumed activity after the summer break with its fifth round of the 2024 season at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo (Valencia). There, Juan Cota (Drivex Team) emerged as the dominant force, taking all three victories along with his first Pole Position and first fastest lap in F4.
Juan "The Conqueror" Cota
Sunday morning began with the first Pole Position in F4 for a flawless Juan Cota. The Madrid native left no room for error in the second race of the weekend, where Mattia Colnaghi—pole-sitter—and Maciej Gladysz both secured podium finishes, taking advantage of Keanu Al Azhari's absence in the points. Although Al Azhari finished third, he was penalized for jumping the start, leaving him out of the points.
Meanwhile, Gabriel Gómez continued his love affair with the Circuit Ricardo Tormo, finishing fourth overall and securing his first rookie podium in F4.
Race 3 capped off Drivex's spectacular weekend in Valencia. Juan Cota, this time starting from Pole, put on a masterclass to achieve the triple victory with more than a 10-second margin over Keanu Al Azhari. The MP Motorsport driver faced his toughest event of the year but still managed to secure a podium finish. Despite his reduced lead at the top, he still holds a 21-point advantage with six races remaining. Mattia Colnaghi completed the podium, making it seven podiums this season for him.
Thus, at the conclusion of the fifth round of the F4 Spanish Championship in Cheste, Keanu Al Azhari remains in the lead with 182 points, followed by Mattia Colnaghi, who narrows the gap with 161 points. Maciej Gladysz (140), Ernesto Rivera (108), and Lucas Fluxá (106) round out the top five, with Juan Cota closing in with 98 points after his triple victory.
In the battle for the team title, KCL by MP Motorsport remains in first place with 288 points, followed by their box neighbors MP Motorsport with 258 points, Griffin Core by Campos with 163, and Campos Racing with 143.
The next event will take place from October 4th to 6th at the Circuito de Jerez-Ángel Nieto.
