Round 6 Preview – F4 Spanish Championship heads to Valencia for penultimate showdown

October 16, 2025 by

The 2025 F4 Spanish Championship approaches its climax as the penultimate round of the season takes place this weekend at Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia. After an intense weekend in Jerez marked by three different winners, the battle for the title continues — with Thomas Strauven now within reach of the crown following another strong performance.

At Jerez, Ean Eyckmans, René Lammers, and Thomas Strauven shared the victories across the three races. Eyckmans claimed his maiden win in Race 1, Lammers returned to the top step in Race 2, and Strauven secured his seventh victory of the year in Race 3, extending his championship lead and moving closer to sealing the 2025 title.

The Valencia circuit is a 4.005-kilometer track featuring 14 turns and a mix of fast flowing corners, medium-speed complexes, and heavy-braking zones that test both setup and racecraft. The sweeping Turn 4–5 sequence and the tight hairpin at Turn 12 often provide key overtaking opportunities under braking, while the Esses section and the final Turn 14 demand precision to carry momentum onto the main straight. With a technical layout and close walls in some sections, mistakes are punished, and the margin for error is slim.

The action gets underway on Friday with a collective test session of 1 hour and 20 minutes. On Saturday, there will be a 40-minute free practice session at 10:00, followed by Qualifying 1 at 12:25, and culminating in Race 1 at 14:55. Sunday begins with Qualifying 2 at 10:00, then the weekend’s shorter Race 2 at 12:15, before the grand finale, Race 3 at 15:05.

Heading into Valencia, Thomas Strauven leads the Drivers’ Championship with 278 points, well ahead of René Lammers (168), Ean Eyckmans (162), Jan Przyrowski (146) and Juan Cota (111). In the Teams’ standings, Griffin Core by Campos Racing leads with 365 points, ahead of MP Motorsport (299), Campos Racing (120), KCL by MP(116), and Rodin Motorsport (97). With two rounds remaining, Strauven holds a commanding lead and could mathematically secure the 2025 title this weekend under certain results.
